Sanders Announces Policy Roundtable Series On Empowering Arkansans

February 10, 2022

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Today, Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced a series of policy roundtables on empowering Arkansans. These will be a continuation of policy discussions with leaders and stakeholders across Arkansas in the areas of education, public safety, economic development, tourism and outdoor recreation, workforce development, and more.

“As governor, I will hit the ground running on day one with bold, conservative reforms to empower Arkansans and unlock our state’s full potential,” Sanders said. “These conversations will continue to help us lay the foundation to make Arkansas the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Sanders will sit down with education leaders and stakeholders – including parents, teachers, and principals – on Thursday, February 10, to further discuss improving childhood literacy, empowering Arkansas parents, closing the achievement gap, and other topics. With only 31% of Arkansas third graders reading at grade level, a growing achievement gap, and children falling further behind due to the pandemic, these topics will be critical areas that must be addressed in order to build a stronger Arkansas.
